Tabkeys 2.3.5 does something cool
Good news, everyone!
Not crappy news, anyway. First, a little background. You know how, when you use a Tabkeys hotkey to open a new tab, you can have it open next to the current tab instead of at the end of the tab bar, the way Safari does it by default? And how, when you close a tab using a Tabkeys hotkey, you can have it focus the left tab instead of the right tab?
Well, this Tabkeys update takes advantage of new features in Safari 5.1’s extension API to make it so these options apply no matter how you open or close a tab—not just when you use a Tabkeys hotkey to do so.
This means, for example, if you open a new tab by clicking the little plus sign at the end of the tab bar, it will now open according to your Tabkeys new tab position preference. And if you close a tab by clicking the little close button on the tab itself, the tab that gets the focus will be the one you selected in Tabkeys preferences. But only if you’re using Safari 5.1 or above.
Download Tabkeys 2.3.5 or let Safari update your copy.
